What ADHD Coaching Looks Like

(And how to know if it’s right for you)

If you’ve been wondering what coaching actually involves, you're not alone. ADHD coaching can be hard to visualise — especially if you’ve never done anything like it before.

This page is here to give you a clear, no-fluff overview of how I work, what happens in a session, and how to decide if it's the right fit for you.

What Is ADHD Coaching?

ADHD coaching is a structured, supportive process that helps you build awareness, clarity, and practical ways to manage the things that often feel impossible — like focus, follow-through, organisation, and decision-making.

It’s collaborative and client-led, meaning you decide what we explore, and I help you slow down, untangle things, and move forward with more intention and self-trust.

Unlike therapy, coaching is more present- and future-focused. We won’t dig deeply into your past, but we will make sense of the patterns that keep showing up.

What Happens in a Coaching Session?

Coaching sessions last 60 minutes and are typically weekly or fortnightly. A session usually includes:

  • A short check-in to see what’s on your mind

  • Focusing in on one area you want to explore (this might be something practical like “why can’t I start this task?” or something bigger like “should I leave this job?”)

  • Unpicking unhelpful thought loops, finding clarity, and identifying small shifts or strategies

  • Leaving with a sense of direction, insight, or next steps

The space is yours — there's no judgment, no pressure to perform, and no expectation that you’ll arrive with clear goals. We figure it out together.

What Might We Work On?

Coaching isn’t about fixing you — it’s about helping you understand yourself and work with your brain, not against it. Common themes clients bring include:

  • “Why do I procrastinate even on things I want to do?”

  • “How do I stay on track when nothing works consistently?”

  • “I feel stuck in my career but can’t figure out what’s next.”

  • “I want to get better at setting boundaries and managing my energy.”

  • “I know what I should be doing, but I’m not doing it.”

We can focus on life, work, or internal stuff — confidence, motivation, decision paralysis, etc. Whatever feels most alive for you.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

That’s up to you. Some clients start with a single session to test the waters or work through one issue. Others begin with the Foundation Package (6 sessions) to build momentum and insight. Some stay longer, especially when working on deeper shifts or navigating big transitions.

There’s no pressure to commit to more than you need. All my packages are outlined clearly on the Coaching Options page.

Do You Tell Me What to Do?

Nope. Coaching isn’t about giving advice or solutions — it’s a thinking partnership. I’ll ask questions, reflect what I notice, and offer tools or strategies where helpful, but the aim is always to help you find your own way forward.

That said, I bring experience, structure, and a lot of compassion to our work. If something isn’t working, we talk about it. Coaching is collaborative — not prescriptive.

How does coaching differ from therapy?

Unlike therapy, ADHD coaching focuses on practical, forward-looking strategies. Through active listening, powerful questioning, and tailored strategies, coaching helps you tap into your strengths, develop new perspectives, and achieve meaningful results.

Coaching might be a good fit if:

  • You’re often stuck in overthinking or overwhelm
